Description

Summary

The incumbent is responsible for soliciting and meeting with existing and prospective applicants in the Bank’s trade area.  Incumbent must possess strong sales, and analytic skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a thorough knowledge of the mortgage business are required.  A minimum of five years of mortgage experience including secondary market guidelines is needed.  Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer.  Must be licensed, registered and have a clean record with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in accordance with the SAFE Act.  Must have a valid and unblemished NJ Driver’s License and be available evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Must have an existing  book of business including clients and realtors
2. Calls on prospective customers through effective use of personal face-to-face sales calls, telemarketing and direct mail
3. Maintains a monthly call report, which includes current prospect list and database
4. Follows up on all sales leads provided and responds promptly to lead provider as to the results of the call
5. Must maintain frequent communication with customer from inception of application through closing and maintenance of loan
6. Contact existing commercial customers annually either by phone or in-person to see if we are meeting their needs and see if there are other services we can provide      
7. Work closely with the Bank’s Marketing Department to develop and implement various Marketing strategies that target the products that the Bank would like to concentrate on
8. Responsible for review of complete mortgage application information; analyze applicant’s financial status, property valuation and credit to determine the feasibility of granting the loan 
9. Maintains and develops mortgage program through calls on realtors, accountants and attorneys 
10. Acts as a contact officer on all products and services when new relationship has been established

4. Travel will be required within the Bank’s trade area

Significant (3-5 years) experience in outside sales, preferably in the financial services industry
