Job Description

Responsible for initiating collection activities on early stage accounts and charged off deposit and loan accounts in order to comply with bank policy and procedure as well as ensure the bank is in compliance with federal regulations for loan servicing. Counsels customers and works to establish formal and informal repayment plans, settlements and workout plans. Responsible for accurately documenting the collection plan for each customer.

The team has the autonomy to make calls without micromanagement. You are responsible for your performance. There’s a “power hour" when everyone has to call on charged off deposit accounts. Everyone’s stats and rankings are shared with the team, and scorecards are sent out every Monday. Call quality plays a big part in where you rank.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will accurately document the collection system for each customer contact.
  • You will identify ways to mitigate loss, complete due date changes and deferrals.
  • You will escalate or redirect the more delinquent accounts to senior collectors for handling.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree and 1-2 years of collections, branch banking, or customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
