Screen Printing + Embroidery Production Assistant

Bolt Printing, a custom apparel company located in Brookfield, CT, is seeking a full-time Production Assistant.

About the Job

This is an entry-level, hands-on position that will provide applicants with a wide variety of responsibilities related to screen printing, digital printing, and embroidery. More than anything, this is a great opportunity to work in a fun (but hard-working) environment while learning about an exciting $3.64 billion industry.

You'll be working on-location at our scenic office and production facility just off Federal Road in Brookfield.

Because we're a small team, you'll be expected to learn multiple roles. However, based on your demonstrated ability and interests, you may ask (or be asked) to focus more on one specific activity. Just keep in mind that it won't necessarily always be the only thing you do -- given the business's needs, there will be some flexibility.

While previous experience would be great (especially if it includes using a multi-head embroidery machine), it's by no means essential -- we're willing (and able) to train candidates in whatever they need to learn. And you'll likely start in an easier role, such as digital printing.

Your responsibilities may include :

-Screen printing with a manual press

-Screen printing with an automatic press

-Digital printing (aka direct-to-garment (DTG) printing)

-Embroidery

As well as the following supporting activities:

-Trimming embroidery

-Catching shirts at the end of a conveyor belt, which are then checked for quality, counted, and folded

-Picking and readying garments for orders at the start of the day

-Shipping

-Preparing and cleaning screens.

In addition, you may be asked to help with various smaller projects, including minor things for social media.

Depending on the role, the job can occasionally be physically demanding or require repetitive activities.

About You

We're looking for somebody who can work quickly, accurately, and under pressure. And if you're comfortable wearing a lot of different hats -- and interested in wearing a few more -- you'll do great.

A person who's naturally curious and unafraid to ask questions will do well here -- especially because we don't expect to find somebody who knows everything right away. However, if you pay attention and make an effort to learn, there are opportunities for advancement.

About Us

Bolt Printing is a woman-owned, family-run business established in 2009. We're roughly 20 employees (and 2 office dogs) strong.

We provide custom apparel (t-shirts, hats, beanies, etc) to a range of customers, including businesses, non-profits/charities, individuals looking to celebrate an event (birthdays, family get-togethers, etc), and resellers. All of our screen printing, digital printing, and embroidery is done on-location in our production facility -- and yes, it's a pretty cool working environment where you'll get to see (and work on) a mix of designs.
