Job Details:
The Assistant Plumber assists the licensed Plumber with maintenance and major repairs to the Hospital’s plumbing. The Assistant Plumber performs assigned general maintenance duties required to maintain and repair the Hospital facility, machines and equipment involving some skills in carpentry, painting and/or the electrical and mechanical trades.
Responsibilities:
- Works with the Hospital’s licensed Plumber.
- Makes minor plumbing repairs to plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, urinals.
- Uses power snakes for drain cleaning.
- Assures that jobs specified on maintenance requests and work orders are completed satisfactorily.
- Assists in periodic inspections of buildings and structures.
- Maintains tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks and inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Makes emergency repairs within area of knowledge and responsibility.
- Attends special training classes and sessions to increase skills in various crafts.
- Inspects machinery in operation to assure proper functioning, including checking pressures and temperatures as required.
- Continues to perform all related duties, assignments and responsibilities as related to General Maintenance Mechanic as part of the Assistant Plumber position this includes assigned PMs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Basic plumbing training required which can be obtained either through a Trade school or by working with a Certified Licensed Plumber. 2 years of building maintenance experience required. Hospital experience preferred. Plumbing certificate through a trade school.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma required.

Salary : $38,200 - $48,300
