Job Description
Bonafide is looking for a talented Controller to lead our accounting team. This role will manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting function with ownership of the financial reporting process, annual audit, banking, and insurance relationships. We are looking for a senior leader who is highly organized, hands-on, and analytically minded. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will be responsible for all accounting functions and have one direct report (Accounts Payable Specialist).
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including billing, account coding, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
- Execute and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements that are compliant with GAAP and company policies
- Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and play a leading role in ensuring compliance and directing process improvements
- Help identify ways in which to minimize costs and maximize performance.
- Monitor and report on cash flow performance and own the cash forecasting process
- Oversee AP Specialist on accounts payable function
- Lead year-end audit process and maintain relationship with auditors
- Manage day-to-day banking and insurance relationships, including annual insurance renewal process
- Assist CFO with annual budgeting process
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with an advanced degree in accounting preferred
- Experience owning the GL and recording of all business transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local accounting requirements and internal policies
- Direct, recent experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience including Controller positions
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting
- Strong leadership qualities including a successful track record of leading key projects and initiatives
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly
- Demonstrated ability to create and simplify policies and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and with ability to multi-task, prioritize, work quickly and to tight deadlines
- Active CPA preferred

Our Office Locations
Bonafide Health headquarters are in Harrison, New York, approximately 22 miles north of Manhattan. We also have a satellite location in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. We anticipate a hybrid work situation with a mix of remote work and in-office work between 1-3 days per week starting in January 2022. Candidates must be vaccinated to work in our offices.
