JOB TITLE: Team Leader (CAPTAIN)

REPORTS TO TITLE: Department Manager with the direction from Department Supervisor

SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: Monday through Friday (2:30 pm to 1:00 am).

STARTING PAY: $24.00 per hour on up

The purpose of this position is to ensure timely processing and accuracy of machine parts per customer’s request. This position includes managing a team of machine operators, measuring parts to customer expectations, setting up CNC mills and automated cells. Will Assist Value Stream Engineer and Facilitator in identifying potential problems and areas of improvement.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

• Able to understand and help design fixtures.
• Manage & conduct safety training.
• Drive process adherence
• Maintain accurate inventories through cycle counts & inventory adjustments.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• Understanding or ability to calculate speeds and feeds.
• Know basic shop floor programming on CNC machines,
• Assist or perform set-ups on CNC machines.
• Ability to coach, develop and lead production employees.
• Strong problem solving and advanced math skills.
• Communicating needs between various departments.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Ability to delegate and anticipate needs of the value stream and employees.
• Work closely with design engineers, salesmen, & customer service.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
• Ability to inspire others to work efficiently, defuse conflict and make good decisions.
• Ability to efficiently use a computer, including programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Team player with leadership skills.
• Excellent inspection skills.
• Able to understand workload and prioritize the workload to order demand.
• Able to learn the company system and understand all the elements of the internet and other company applications for team members and production flow.

Required to Have:

• High School Diploma and/or GED
• Strong interpersonal skills and basic math skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively: self-motivated; self-starter.
• Must be able to pass company background check and drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time
