JOB TITLE: 1st Shift Racker
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor with directions from a Team Leader
SHIFT MID-DAY/HOURS: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m
STARTING PAY: Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with potential to earn more.
40 hours per week over the course of 5 days, with occasional mandatory Saturday for OT.
This entry-level position works in the Anodizing Department and is responsible for affixing aluminum pieces of varied sizes onto titanium metal anodizing racks.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Examines articles for defects and sorts of articles according to extent of defect.
- Rackers work side by side on a line, with no more than an arm’s length between them.
- Frequently lift and carry boxes of parts weighing no more than thirty pounds.
- Differentiate between varied sizes, shapes, and styles of pieces.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment.
- Accepts feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the loads are up to safety standards.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds (25lbs), frequently lift and/or move up to thirty pounds (30lbs) occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee continually works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma/GED preferred, not required.
- Prior anodizing and/or metal experience a plus.
