**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a talented Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the transmission capital program, providing engineering and technical services for Transmission's capital and sustain (expense) programs.

As an Architect, you will:

· Provide architectural and technical support for BPA's capital and sustain (expense) Energy Delivery and Non-Energy Delivery facility programs in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Northern California.

· Act as the Project Engineer (PE) providing authoritative advice, counsel, and guidance, providing technical support, direction, and oversight of projects from the preliminary planning and programming stages through scoping, design, construction, equipment installation, inspection and final project commissioning stages.

· Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing technical guidance, direction, and oversight to BPA staff assigned to assist in project activities.

· Act as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) working with procurement to procure AE professional services. COR is responsible for creating the Statement of Work (SOW), monitoring performance and compliance with the professional services contract to ensure that BPA receives goods or services that conform to the technical requirements as set forth in the contract.

· This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period

· This position requires a valid driver's license as a condition of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Requirements:

Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.

Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by at least one of the following:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Applying a wide range of architectural concepts, principles, and methods applicable to 1) scope, plan, design, review AE design submittals, and layout architectural and engineering components for a construction project that include building envelope technologies, building structural systems, interior and exterior finishes, or other architectural systems and 2) to identify problems and generate recommendations for solution on assigned projects.
