Currently serving more than 50,000 students across 12 states, Book Trust acts as an equity game changer, helping students build personal libraries with books they choose and become life-long learners in the process.WHAT YOU DOThe Design Manager leads Book Trust’s visual branding, graphic design, email marketing, and website management. With a focus on creative storytelling and project management, this role leads design for print, digital, and web projects, as well as photo and video editing. From campaign/project visual conception to implementation, the Design Manager bolsters Book Trust’s presence and appeal, leverages the brand to increase audience engagement, drives timelines, manages vendors, and works with contributors and stakeholders across the organization.RESPONSIBILITIESWebElevate Book Trust’s WordPress-based website with new pages, content, and imagery.Enhance web-based event ticket sales pages and campaign/donation pages in partnership with the Development Team.Collaborate to increase website traffic through multi-channels communication projects.Build and manage relationships with web developers and partners.DigitalPartner with Book Trust’s Communications Manager to develop engaging content.Lead email marketing execution

Design templates and graphics for dynamic email communications.Create and send email communications.Manage email distribution lists.

Social media

Design templates and graphics for social media platforms, posts, and ads.

Visual assets

Edit photos and videos.Manage photo and video libraries.

Fundraising & EventsDesign deliverables supporting fundraising campaigns and events including flyers, posters, table tents, letters, auction materials, remittance envelopes, reports, postcards, and newsletters.Create branded experiences for all campaigns and fundraisers on Book Trust’s website, fundraising platform, and event platform.PrintLead design and production of all print materials including collateral and branded giveaway items.Curation and CollaborationPartner with the Communications Manager to bring narratives, messaging, and communication strategies to lifeFacilitate collaborative partnerships with Program, Development, Systems and Operations Teams to manage execute projects on time and in budgetDevelop and maintain relationships with vendors including photographers, videographers, freelance designers, and printersDevelop and maintain Book Trust’s brand guideLead project management for event and campaign deliverablesTake photos and video at events and in classroomsAttend Book Trust program and fundraising eventsParticipate in strategic planningParticipate in cross-functional work teams when relevant to communications and brand workPerform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSUndergraduate degree in graphic design preferred.At least 4 years of experience developing and executing graphic design projects including print, digital, web, and video.Experience building and evolving a brand online, in print, and via social media and digital communications.Experience preparing files for outside printing and managing the print and mailing/shipping process.Experience redeveloping an organization’s or company’s website.Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, photo editing, video editing, PowerPoint, social media platforms, MailChimp or similar email platform, and WordPress or similar CMS.Existing relationships with printers, photographers, and videographers preferred.Photography and/or videography experience preferred.
