Background Screening Investigator
Key Role:
Serve as a background screening program case manager within an internal team responsible for facilitating pre-hire screening processes and ensuring proper case management within the background screening program for candidates. Conduct screening investigations that include collecting data from multiple sources, analyzing for discrepancies, then synthesizing information and summarize screening findings clearly and concisely in writing. Prepare and present case materials in written and oral format to a formal review committee. Perform in a fast-paced environment with little supervision, maintain high organizational oversight to ensure task completion, and maintain compliance standards with local and national laws in each area of operation as they pertain to background screenings, investigations, and their impact on employment. Collaborate with external groups with case escalations, including employee relations, the law department, and security services, requiring a professional bearing. Support specialized screening practices, as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
3 years of experience with background screenings, general corporate investigations, or investigations in a law enforcement or military environment
Experience with the protection of confidential or sensitive materials and data
Knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as it pertains to background screenings
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Ability to communicate professionally in written and oral form with all levels of staff and external clients
Ability to verbally present screening findings and respond to questions clearly and concisely
Ability to be detail-oriented and adapt to changing case volumes and types
Ability to obtain a security clearance
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with synthesizing data to develop reports
Experience with international legal or compliance processes
Ability to work independently and utilize resources to problem-solve a variety of complex issues
Bachelor's degree
Private Investigation Registration or License
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
