The Opportunity:

Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the military and the DoD needs. 

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your skills in network design, architecture, system interoperability, test strategies and problem solving to help support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll develop new architectures and infrastructures, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.  

You’ll apply your knowledge in integration of IoT into new and existing design and architecture, routing and switching, integration of encryption, developing tools and demonstrations system interoperability, IP engineering, gateway protocol, network transport layers and virtual routing, as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and develop new and emerging technologies.

Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have: 

  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting ethernet, routers, and switches in order to maintain connectivity with a suite of specialized applications, databases, and servers while maintaining Authority To Operate
  • Experience with installing and configuring Cisco routers and switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, optimize, operate, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux based software to support constructive simulation
  • Ability to provide input to internal and external clients on simulation technical issues
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Security Certification

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server Operating Systems, DNS, Active Directory, and Microsoft SharePoint Server
  • Experience with constructive simulations and Layer II and III routers and switches
  • Experience in a software testing environment and with planning and leading technical projects and coordinating associated requirements across multiple work centers
  • Ability to employ, configure, operate and maintain virtual and rack mounted servers and Common Hardware Platforms (CHP) using VMWare
  • Ability to assist with the physical layout of network architecture
  • Ability to evaluate constructive simulation performance to ensure network reliability during simulation exercises and provide detailed documented feedback describing problems, recommended solutions, and priorities
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Configuration Certification
  • CompTIA Linux Certification
  • CCNA Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
