Technical Writer, Mid
Key Role:
Work across a team of subject matter experts to create concise, technically accurate documents in a variety of formats while conforming to Army and DoD style guidelines. Manage projects and deadlines independently and as part of a team. Apply specific functional knowledge and translate complex concepts in a format and style appropriate to a variety of audiences. Review and edit complex technical information for readability, style, and format.
Basic Qualifications:
4 years of technical writing experience
2 years of Army or DoD writing experience
Experience with technical writing and editing technical documents, technical reports, plans, dashboards, newsletters, standing operating procedures, or government correspondence
Experience with graphic design and document layout using Adobe InDesign
Experience with document formatting using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
Ability to conduct and coordinate technical and quality reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness
Ability to learn about technical topics and apply knowledge to technical writing efforts
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience owning an end-to-end document creation process and ability to manage to and prioritize against deadlines
Knowledge of generating 508 compliant documents preferred
Ability to implement multiple approaches to data gathering
Ability to synthesize and distill information to create cohesive, coherent written products
Ability to effectively utilize existing workflow processes to ensure projects stay on track and to develop processes to improve workflow
