JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Lab/Office Manager with experience in the process of early- stage pharmaceutical drug discovery. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of duties and tasks related to overseeing the operations of the laboratory and office, ensuring everything is executed with best practices. The individual will be asked to perform cross-functional tasks and collaborate with all team members (both technical and non-technical).

This position reports to the Head of Platform

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Laboratory Responsibilities

  • Management of procurement and inventory systems for the laboratory, including systems for ordering and organizing supplies
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and distribution of research supplies and materials
  • Management of preventative maintenance programs, including working with vendors/suppliers to maximize uptime for equipment, and developing operating procedures to maximize equipment performance
  • Communicate with vendors for the purchase, maintenance, and calibration of equipment and consumables
  • Management of cleaning and preparation programs for glassware and equipment to support experimental work
  • Managing lab buildout, lab moves, facilities planning and maintenance
  • Update and maintain chemical and utilities inventory

Office Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth running of the day-to-day office activities
  • Manage office suppliers/vendors
  • Coordinate purchase of office supplies and manage expenditures
  • Responsible for mail, packages, and company PO Box
  • Work with building maintenance and facilities
  • Create and implement office standardizations and processes
  • The go-to person for the internal team
  • Help with preparation for internal team events, planning, and preparation

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3 years’ experience
  • Experience in facility move and/or setting up new labs is a plus
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to effectively converse with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work with sensitive data
  • Proactive and can-do mentality

COMPENSATION

  • We offer competitive salaries; the salary range depends upon candidate qualifications and experience.
