BORAL JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Credit Collections Rep Department: Accounting and Finance Reports to: Credit Manager Supervises: NA FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date: 10/09/2019 Job Code: 100083 JOB SUMMARY The Credit Collections Rep leads and monitors the company's accounts receivable balances on the customers for which they are responsible. This position is responsible for a group of customers and ensures that invoices are paid promptly, and invalid deductions are charged back to the customer. This position is responsible for payments recollected and issuing credits for correct inaccuracies. The Rep would be working cross-functionally with customers, sales agencies, sales, customer resource center, & many other internal customers for problem resolution. The Credit and Collection Rep reports to the Credit Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Comply with Boral Safety Policies and Procedures. * Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility. * Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero-injury safety culture. * Process new customer credit applications and verify trade references. * Establish credit limits for new and existing customers. * Cultivate relationships with customers regarding their credit and account status. * Maintain current customer credit files with new or changing information. * Make collection calls and maintain follow-up on customers' past due invoices. * Resolve billing and customer credit issues and investigates historical data. * Review and collaborate throughout the collection process. * Verify customer account information is correct and updates as needed. * Process credit card payments and request refunds. * Respond accurately and quickly to credit inquiries. * Meet with Credit Manager regularly to determine which customers would benefit from receiving a credit file update request. * Perform a wide variety of credit and collection functions. * Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships. * Must be able to work well in a team environment. * Must possess strong communication and organizational skills. * Ability to work well with people at all levels and motivate the warehouse associates. * Must have strong leadership skills and ability to professionally lead associates by example. * Ability to think and take constructive action in work-related matters. * Must have the ability to multi-task. * Must be able to work independently and use good judgment. * Ability to maintain attention to detail. * Organized, detail-oriented and proactive mindset is a must. * Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and willingness to take on additional responsibility. * Strong analytical and research skills to be used for problem-solving and dispute resolution. * Math skills and a basic understanding of accounting. * Knowledge of accounting procedures, with the understanding of invoices, statements. * Knowledge of account receivables, payables, and various forms of payment remittances. * Bilingual is a Plus -- Not a must. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE * Portfolio of min. 5-700 (B2B/Commercial) customers * AR of $40-$50 Million * Minimum 4 years of Prior experience of Credit & Collections. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. * Accounting Degree is a Plus -- Not a must. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: * Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable. * Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out. * Prolong sittings or in stationary position. * Complete repetitive movements. * Bend and/or twist. * Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds. * Ability to move or traverse about the facilities. * Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions. * Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection).
