Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
- Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process
- Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used
- Generate payment to vendors on a routine schedule and match the check with backup for review by the financial manager.
- Inspect paid and unpaid invoices in order to maintain accurate files and records according to company standards.
- Review automatic payments to ensure correct coding and authorization as well as sufficient contracts and documentation
Safeguard the Assets of the Dealership
- Assist in implementing strategic objectives at the dealership.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental finance regulations, including filing and/or maintaining of required forms, property tax, sales tax filings, processing 1099s, etc.
- Ensure all vehicle deal, financial, payroll, and employee records are maintained, retained, and destroyed in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinate processing of financial transactions to ensure accounting policies, procedures, and reporting requirements are being followed.
- Maintain appropriate segregation of duties in the accounting office.
Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Prepare accurate financial reports and statements on a timely basis.
- Perform required daily accounting processes.
- Complete the financial monthly close of the store in a timely manner.
- Maintain the general ledger and scheduled accounts, keeping sub ledgers in balance with the GL
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and record any and all adjustments in the appropriate reporting period.
- Supervise the control of the petty cash accounts
- Facilitate the preparation of work papers and answer our CPA’s requests and questions during the annual review of our financial statements
- Participate in the preparation of financial forecasts and the annual Plan for the dealership

Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, pursuing a degree in accounting preferred.
2 years’ experience working in the field; CPA firm experience preferred.
· Audit experience is also an asset
Skills and Specialized Knowledge
· Working knowledge of personal computing software including Microsoft Office
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, reports, and procedures
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from dealership management
