Job Description

Position Summary:

The Receiving Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction within the Material Handling Receiving department. This role is responsible for accurately managing the receipt, labeling, distribution, and proper storage of materials. Additionally, the Receiving Team Leader will support cross-departmental collaboration with Honing, Purchasing, Shipping, Stockrooms, and Quality teams to ensure materials are processed correctly through designated procedures.

The starting hourly rate is $20.00/hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster a team environment based on trust, open communication, and collaboration.
  • Motivate and inspire team members by setting a positive example and demonstrating consistent behaviour.
  • Oversee the receipt of incoming materials, ensuring accuracy against Purchase Orders.
  • Load and unload trucks, including supplier and inter-plant shipments.
  • Verify the accuracy of inbound and outbound materials.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records for accounting, purchasing, and warranty purposes.
  • Use counting scales for precise material counts.
  • Adjust stock quantities and Purchase Orders in Fourth Shift to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure a seamless inspection process.
  • Pull, pick, and ship materials according to Purchase Orders and production schedules.
  • Use RF Scanners to receive materials and update inventory.
  • Ensure materials are properly stored in designated stockrooms.
  • Manage the movement of parts from receiving and secondary process lines to stock.
  • Coordinate workload among staff and adjust personnel as needed.
  • Identify and elevate issues, offering continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Measure, weigh, and count products, providing data for process improvements.
  • Perform 5S maintenance updates in Q-pulse as assigned.
  • Develop and implement processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain and adhere to safety standards in line with company and government policies.
  • Address discrepancies with Accounting and Purchasing departments.
  • Identify and address issues with part drawings and delivery accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment:

  • The majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment where temperatures may vary depending on the season, and noise levels can range from moderate to high.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required as per company safety standards, including safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, and safety shoes.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Push carts with heavy loads.

Qualifications

  • school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of RF Scanners is required.
  • Ability to manage workflow between departments and team members.
  • Prior experience in Stockroom, Shipping, and Quality departments, or familiarity with these processes, is preferred.
  • Ability to read part drawings is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Proficiency in counting parts using a counting scale.
  • Previous training experience of others required.
  • Ability to operate material handling machinery, such as pallet jacks, stackers, and aerial lifts.
  • Forklift certification and experience is preferred.
