The Applied Research Tools Group is looking for a software engineer to be a lead contributor to the tools used to measure, analyze and design the technology that forms the basis of the groundbreaking wearable and out-loud product experiences Bose is known for. Our team promotes and deploys new technology to the engineering community as well as builds and maintains the critical software infrastructure that keeps the Consumer Electronics division humming. The role will entail: Designing measurement, analysis and design applications and user interfaces Designing and implementing database architectures to store and organize our data, as well as APIs to pass data to and from our engineering applications Writing software testing and deployment pipelines Authoring engaging documentation Educating, supporting and collaborating with our users Beyond software development expertise, candidates preferably have a strong interest in audio systems. Experience in diverse technical backgrounds is ideal, including audio measurements, signal processing, and acoustics. Practical experience with audio hardware is also highly desirable. We are a dynamic team that has a broad reach, so candidates must enjoy working collaboratively, value team dynamics, and possess high level interpersonal and communication skills. Required skills and experience: BS or MS in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering 5 years of industry software development experience Designing and maintaining flexible and scalable SQL database architectures Programming in Matlab & Python, including object-oriented design and writing well-documented & testable code CICD processes including writing test suites and packaging code for distribution Champion for code quality and standards A passion for customer-valued interface design Excellent communication skills Track record of strong teamwork and collaboration on technical projects A strong practical understanding of audio signals and systems Highly valued experience: Web development frameworks Linux environments Experience in contributing to open-source projects Data visualization and dashboard design through platforms like Dash / PowerBI Hands on experience and/or interest in fields such as live sound production, home theater, automotive audio systems, audio recording and production, etc. Digital Signal Processing concepts Familiarity and experience debugging audio hardware setups including amplifiers, speakers, microphones and signal routing Bose is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
