The Restaurant Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the location. The major accountability of the Assistant Manager is to continuously focus on meeting and exceeding guests’ expectations with exceptional food, beverage and service as a primary goal.

Responsibilities
- Assists in hiring, orientations, training, supervising, and motivating all Team Members as needed.
- Effectively manages employee-relations issues, including utilization of corrective action measures where necessary.
- Teaches all Team Members clear expectations of conduct and service.
- Assists with managing salary/wage administration and scheduling to effectively manage costs, including food, beverage and labor.
- Trains, cross trains and develops subordinate managers and staff for advancement.
- Establishes and maintains good business and community relations.
- Assist with implementing local merchandising and promotional programs.
- Assists with developing sales techniques to increase guest counts and check averages.
- Assure the store is operating to company’s expectations with regard to operational processes and procedures by setting the standard for excellence in the restaurant.
- Assist with implementing strategies to assure 100% guest satisfaction.
- Assist with maintaining procedures for cost, waste, and quality control.
- Assists with implementing strategies to exceed budgetary expectations with regard to sales and operational costs which includes incorporating daily promotions.
- Assists with responding to all guest comments promptly and respectfully.
- Assists with coordinating all maintenance issues to upper management and arranges for preventive maintenance or repair on restaurant equipment as necessary along with properly maintaining the facility and grounds.
- Assists with monitoring housekeeping and sanitation standards.
- Follows proper cash handling and guest check procedures.
- Effectively communicates with everyone, from upper management to managers on duty and other Team Members, to guests, to vendors, and to Corporate Office.
- Is responsible for building store sales and is accountable for profit and loss.
- Assists with schedules and delegates tasks to be completed.
- Assist with overseeing all bookkeeping and banking.
- Conducts regular departmental meetings.
- Ensures the security of the restaurant and Team Members during operational hours.
- Assists with ordering and monitoring inventory and conducts spot audit inventories as necessary.
- Assists with conducting Team Member performance reviews.
- Monitors quality of food and maintains high standards of guest service.
- Ensures all daily side work is completed by staff and checked out by management before leaving the building.
- Generates fun and excitement through personality and positive attitude to help ensure many return visits from guests.
- Providing friendly and competent customer service.
- Reporting for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
Additional Job Duties:
- Assisting in other duties, as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises 25 or more employees.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):
- One to three years experience in the restaurant business.
- Basic PC Software Experience (ei…Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Capable of performing every function in the restaurant so as to properly supervise all of those functions.
- Strong culinary aptitude.
- Strong adherence to designated specs, recipes, and procedures.
- Must be highly motivated, organized and able to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to operate under minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must conduct self in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
- Must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of all trade secrets, including recipes, policies and procedures.
- Must work a minimum of 50 hours per week, anytime day or night as needed.
- Must be able to work special events, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation and phone.
- Must be able to communicate in English. – IF APPLICABLE
- Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
- Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
