What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer and Supply Logistics Management CO-OP (Boston Office) position at Boston Beer Corporation?
We are hiring a Customer Operations Co-Op in our Boston Office. This position is from January-June 2024.
The department's core purpose is to "maintain optimal inventory targets at our wholesalers by aligning customer needs with product availability. We orchestrate orders, manage transit, and navigate supply chain disruptions with a customer-centric approach." As a Customer Operations Co-Op, you will play a vital role in building, adjusting, and overseeing outbound customer orders while aligning with our key performance indicators (KPIs): service level and truck utilization. Additionally, you'll collaborate directly with Customer Service to process and address wholesaler claims.
What You'll Brew:
- Conduct weekly supply/demand reviews for orders within the upcoming two weeks. Utilize insights into brewery and wholesaler inventory levels to make swift and informed decisions regarding distribution, product availability, and allocation to resolve supply gaps.
- Participate in daily production huddles, offering recommendations to mitigate the impact on sales orders.
- Execute, document, and organize all changes to sales orders, and communicate updates to Customer Operations colleagues.
- Manage supply shortages at specific plants by collaborating with Customer Operations and Transportation to minimize disruptions to carriers, customers, and service levels.
- Collaborate with transportation, planning, and customer operations to manage orders and ensure on-time shipments to customers.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate orders for the same customer to optimize truck utilization. Review outbound truck weights daily to achieve 95% asset utilization; report deviations to the Customer Operations Manager.
- Investigate damage and shipping claims, facilitate relevant credits via the Quick Base system, and respond to customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled student pursuing a degree in Supply Chain.
- Strong communication skills and acute attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset.
- Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, capable of thoughtful issue analysis and decision-making.
- Able to drive positive change with flexibility, an open-minded approach, and a positive demeanor.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative team environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Experience using SAP
