Schedule-Monday-Friday, starting at 2PM.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Custodial Services, the Assistant Manager, Custodial Services leads and manages a 2nd shift custodial team of 21 Custodians currently and will normally be the senior Custodial Services manager on duty during the 2nd shift. They will direct and manage staff on the effective and efficient cleaning of individual campus houses, Academic/Administrative buildings and some Athletics facilities. They may be called upon to respond to and manage facilities emergencies and report to senior managers to coordinate additional response if necessary, especially with the Facilities Evening Operations Supervisor. They are responsible for the morale, training and development of their entire team and will continuously review staffing, performance and hire new staff. They are responsible for the ordering of custodial supplies for the 2nd Shift.
This is an essential position and will have to respond to some campus emergencies including, but not limited to storms.
Willingness and ability to work days/nights and weekends in order to complete projects and support programming for conferences and special events, including Athletics.
The requirements for this job merit the hiring of an active individual that would be required to walk around the dwellings and grounds on all campuses on a regular basis. This position requires the ability to climb stairs and scale ladders. Incumbent may be subjected to cold, wet, and hot weather conditions.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in the field of custodial management, preferably in a college or university setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and The Google Workspace is required. Familiarity with the Autodesk BIM 360 OPS, Work Order Management system is preferred.
Experience with Kronos or another timekeeping system preferred.
Must demonstrate a proven ability to administer multiple projects and ability to meet deadlines.
This position requires strong interpersonal and analytical skills, including the demonstrable ability to make sound decisions based on available information.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
