Part-time Faculty, Musicology

Job Description: The Core Studies department at Boston Conservatory at Berklee is seeking a specialist in Musicology. This part-time faculty position will cover various courses within the music history department as needed. Courses may include the core undergraduate history sequence, musicology electives, graduate level writing and research skills courses, and graduate seminars. Additional duties may also include service assignments as required. Compensation and rank are commensurate with professional experience. Qualified candidates should possess: Demonstrated ability to teach core music history courses, as well as more focused courses in specific subject areas. A familiarity with the priorities of undergraduate conservatory education. The ability to actively engage students in the learning process, including students who benefit from a variety of learning modalities. A strong sense of collegiality, and a willingness to collaborate when appropriate. A respect for differing opinions and viewpoints. Knowledge of current research and pedagogical trends in ethnomusicology/musicology. Submission Process: Electronic applications only.
