What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Businesses Manager position at Boston Consulting Group?
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Client Businesses Team is part of the global Client Team. Our mission is to strengthen BCG’s capabilities in selling and building lasting client relationships. The Client Team Chair is member of BCG’s Executive and Operating Committee.
As a Client Businesses Manager, you will support content development, analyses, and change management in five programs, such as (1) Building world-class client relationships (2) Account-Based Engagement and Marketing 3) Proposal development and pitching (4) BCG’s commercial L&D, and (5) The Future CCO (Client Coordinating Officer). You will act as an internal Consultant, identifying white space areas that are impactful for BCG’s commercial success and driving them through to implementation.
This role is highly visible as you will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including but not limited to, regional Client Teams, Consulting teams, People Team, L&D, PA leadership, Finance, and Marketing.
Strategic agenda setting and change management
- Be a valued thought partner to the CB Director (Mariya Nacheva) and Senior Manager (Kristina Kostopoulos) to set the overall strategic agenda
- Help drive stakeholder engagement within and outside the Client Team
- Help support the change agenda and execution of initiatives within local systems, regions, and PAs
Client Businesses Team agenda execution
- Help shape initiatives
- Brainstorm and solution on whitespace areas that can have impact on a global level
- Work with key BCG functions (e.g., People Team, PAs, Marketing, L&D, and regional Client Team Directors/managers to get their input and define integrative solutions
- Capture and share best practices across regions and PAs
Contribute and participate in other global Client Team initiatives
- Drive content development of new concepts, guidelines, tools, and programs for other global topics outside of Client Businesses, as needed
- Support global Client Team meetings, WWOMs, EC/OC meetings and other stakeholder meetings
YOU'RE GOOD AT
- Core BCG consulting skill set, incl. quantitative analysis, problem solving, storytelling, etc.
- Creative but practical, ability to develop processes and thinking without pre-existing structure
- Understanding of the BCG partnership, account team models, and BCG's business
- Strong relationship builder, credible, and mature
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
- Self-starter and ability to work independently and in teams; displays consideration and respect for others and puts team success ahead of personal opinion
- Great organization and planning skills, ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, business, marketing or related field
- Preferred 7 years’ experience in management consulting or other professional services firm; BCG consulting experience strongly preferred
- Experience in commercial excellence and functional product development is a plus
- Strong project management experience
- Strong skills in Windows Office (in particular, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
