Procedure Writer

Pantex is one of six production facilities in the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Nuclear Security Enterprise. As the cornerstone of the nation’s Nuclear Security Enterprise, Pantex applies unique capabilities to ensure the effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear stockpile in support of the Nation’s nuclear deterrent. We accomplish this through executing nuclear explosive assembly and disassembly, special nuclear material testing and evaluations, and manufacturing and assessing high explosives at our historic site.

Responsibilities:

As the Procedure Writer supporting Pantex, you’ll prepare & coordinate procedure reviews and comment resolution, implement hazard controls, captures quality and performance data, and ensures that the procedure can be performed as written through verification and validation. Other duties include:

• Develop new, revised, or modified procedures which enable personnel to safely and correctly perform tasks associated with preventive maintenance procedures.
• Responsible for complying with work instructions and relevant handbooks.
• Prepare & coordinate procedure reviews and comment resolution.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree.
• Must have five (5) years of experience in technical writing procedures supporting a commercial or weapons complex facility, or a nuclear facility.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Must pass drug screening examination.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Location/Work Arrangement:

• This position is on-site at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas.

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $58,700 to $111,600 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
