About the Role:

The Senior Supplier Engineer represents the supplier engineering category teams during the product development process and serves on multiple New Product Development teams spanning multiple divisions of Boston Scientific. The Senior Supplier Engineer is the central facilitator between Global Sourcing and product development program teams. The Senior Supplier Engineer partners with material category and cross-functional engineering teams to procure/develop materials, drive risk mitigation efforts, and drive component production readiness for new and next-generation products.

Your Responsibilities Include:

* Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities across multiple functions, communicate to multiple levels, and form relationships/trust quickly

* Facilitate efforts between project teams and category teams to drive component production readiness, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability

* Drive supplier management project execution by communicating tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing/executing contingency plans

* Influence cross-functional engineering teams to reach the best results through the technical and business knowledge base

* Identify/Understand risk levels and take appropriate action to avoid project impact

* Estimate supplier engineering resource and material cost requirements

* Communicate/Resolve project issues by working with category team members, project customers, and others as appropriate

* Identify and drive process improvement and efficiency opportunities for the Material Program Management team to best support the Product Life Cycle Process

* Identifies what resources are required to meet project milestones; makes recommendations to team leader.

* All actions demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

* Minimum5years prior engineering experience

* Bachelor's degree in engineering

* 1-2 years prior project management experience

* Excellent communication and project management skills are a must

* Strong bias for action and results orientation is critical

* Individuals must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results

* 5% Travel Required

Preferred Qualifications

* Minimum 5 years of Medical Device experience working with suppliers is preferred.
