Boulder County Information Technology is seeking a Project Manager, Lead to directly manage a broad spectrum of projects in terms of complexity and scale with multiple interdependencies for elected officials and departments (EO/DH) and provides the core services required to successfully complete those projects or special projects.

An ideal candidate will be extremely organized and have experience in implementing technology projects. They are comfortable working with various teams on a variety of projects. Most of all, we are seeking someone who is passionate about strengthening our community and using technology to help the boulder county organization continuously improve.

This is a full-time, benefitted position. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position is mainly fully remote but may require in-person work as the needs of the department necessitate.  Under FLSA guidelines, this position is exempt. 

As of December 1, 2021, Boulder County requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or request an approved accommodation within ten days of accepting an offer of employment.  A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after completion of a two-dose mRNA series or one dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine. 


Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
 

Hiring Salary Range: $92,940.00 - $113,406.00 Annually
Classification Salary Range: 
$92,940.00 - $133,872.00 Annually 


Tentative Hiring Timeline:

  • Phone Screening: August 1st
  • First Round Interviews:  August 8th
  • Second Round Interviews: August 15th
  • Reference Checks: August 17th
  1. Manages the project initiation, project planning, project execution and project closure of assigned project(s)
  2. Creates and continually updates procedures to improve project management and business analysis processes
  3. Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, and communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers
  4. Identifies potential risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develops specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
  5. Resolves and documents project issues, problems, and changes
  6. May supervise, counsel, and evaluate the work of other employees and recommends personnel actions in the areas of hiring, discipline and termination
  7. Provides leadership by coordinating all aspects of the project(s) and ensuring all team members are working toward common goals and milestones
  8. Serves on Technology Users Group (TUG) and Business Analyst Team (BAT)
  9. Monitors implementation tasks
  10. Identifies and coordinates appropriate resources to resolve problems.
  11. Develops and maintains project documentation
  12. Performs related work as required
  13. May be reassigned in emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of nine years of combined education and experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity.  Volunteer work and internships can be included in the minimum experience requirement.
