What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary - Business Personal Property and Appeals Support Staff position at Boulder County?
The Boulder County Assessors Office is seeking to hire a Temporary - Business Personal Property and Appeals Support Staff. Working cooperatively in a team structure; this position performs a variety of duties which may include filing, recording, record-keeping duties, data entry, scanning, managing incoming mail and outreach to property owners in support of the Business Personal Property and Appeals Departments.
This is a part time, non-benefited position. This is a term limited position with an anticipated end date of June 15th, 2024. This position will work 30 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 7:00am- 5:30pm. This position will work remotely and out of the Downtown Main Courthouse 1325 Pearl Street Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $22.44 Hourly
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- Phone Screening: November 13th
- First Round Interviews: November 13th
- Reference Check: November 14th
- Works, under the direction of appraisal supervisor and staff to track and file paperwork
- Scan, log and upload confidential documents into the Boulder County database
- Log Business Personal Property Declarations Schedules which will also including scanning, data entry and handling of paper and digital submissions
- Log Appeals which will also including scanning, data entry and handling of paper and digital submissions
- Communicates effectively, in verbal and written form, with administrative staff, appraisal staff, and supervisors
- Replies to taxpayer email requests for information
- Monitors workload in an efficient and organized manner to meet deadlines
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of combined education and experience in accounting, auditing of business personal property, or related fields. Additional related education may count toward required experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- High computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Access, Outlook, and Share Point.
- Data entry with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees and the public.
