We’re looking for an assistant store manager to lead and inspire our team. This person will assume all necessary duties of a store manager in his/her absence in addition to their regular duties, as well as provide leadership and motivation to associates of the company.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on outstanding service.
- Develop engaged enthusiastic associates by providing recognition of accomplishments and offering constructive coaching.
- Build powerful and positive relationships with the customers and the community.
- Foster productive relationships with all vendors.
- Manage store operations in accordance with established policies and standard practices.
- Ensure profitable merchandising techniques and layouts are being executed.
- Maintain solid communication with the management team and all associates in the store.
- Delegate and follow up on the work required for the efficient performance of the store.
- Develop extensive product knowledge and make recommendations for sales
- Participate in attracting, selecting, training, and developing associates.
- Assume necessary duties of department buyers in their absence
- Maintain a strong presence on the retail sales floor
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Must work at least one weekend day
Required Skills:
- Strong retail management experience with particular emphasis on beer, wine, and liquor
- Proven ability to be a successful manager and developer of people.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Active participation in and contribution to the community.
- Strong understanding of store operations and store merchandising techniques.
- Creative problem solving; ability to troubleshoot and negotiate for win / win solutions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, shift priorities, delegate appropriately, and follow up to ensure tasks are completed on or before schedule.
- Strong understanding of business information systems, computer databases, and web applications.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
- Ability to use computers and other technical systems required to perform job functions including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Scheduling Software, Point of Sale, and alarms
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Retail Management experience required. Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques. Strong background in the beer, wine, and liquor industries. Desire and ability to lead and manage a team. Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Ability to use technical information to solve problems. Must meet minimum age requirements.
