What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services Specialist (Part-Time) position at Bowen Center?

Provide pertinent social services to clients hospitalized in a 20-bed acute, unlocked psychiatric hospital. Communication and negotiation skills are essential in this role to support patients and their families as they navigate some of the most challenging times of their lives. This role facilitates group therapy sessions in the Inpatient Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily Interdisciplinary Team Meetings
- Document the treatment plan content agreed upon by the treatment team
- Educate Unit staff on the clients' treatment plans
- Meet with clients one on one to complete biopsychosocial assessment
- Facilitate family caregiver meetings
- Obtain collateral for client discharge planning
- Participate in/arrange discharge plans for clients
- Facilitate group therapy sessions
- Educate and train Unit staff members to facilitate group therapy sessions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree (Social Work or Related Degree) required.
• Valid driver’s license and active liability insurance.
• Satisfactory results from a criminal background check.
Salary:
$16.50-19.00/hour
