Overview
LOGISTICS SUPPORT OFFICER (PACAF):
Bowhead seeks a Logistics Support Officer to provide logistics planning support for specific compartmentalized and non-compartmentalized contingency plans and exercise requirements as they pertain to operations within the USINDOPACOM area of operations. The Logistics Support Officer will possess a functional understanding of the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) and assist in planning, logistics estimates, concepts of support, and coordination with joint service component commands and subordinate headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Relate sustainment concepts into detailed executable plans and create TPFDD to support mobilization of assets.
- Lead various workgroups pursuant to OPLAN development and be expected to lead peers and military superiors in analysis and military decision making.
- Quantify life support requirements and translate these into estimates for submission to engineering planners.
- Plan/coordinate logistics support for OPLANS and exercises affecting current and long-range operations.
- Prepares logistics estimates and other products to provide required logistics supply, service, and other life support for OPLAN development.
- Attend, participate, and support the planning and execution of conferences and exercises in support of JCS and USINDOPACOM Operational planning.
- Provide advice, recommendations, and briefings to staff principals, agency chiefs, and external organizations on OPLAN and exercise design activities.
- Assist PACAF to determine the best possible logistics solutions to support OPLANS to minimize costs and meet required timelines Possesses a functional understanding of the JOPES and monitor OPLAN/exercise data requirements necessary to formulate and submit TPFDD information, meeting applicable deadlines.
Qualifications
- Must possess a TOP SECRET/sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI) security clearance and be Special Access Program (SAP)/STO and ACCM eligible.
- Must have working knowledge of logistics planning with a minimum of 3 years of operational experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a MAJCOM or higher-level command staff (highly desirable).
- Experience with exercise-planning systems such as JOPES, DCAPES, JTIMS, ARMS, CAF-SIPT, and/or C2IE.
- Retired or former military officer with joint qualification and a bachelor's degree or higher highly preferred. Logistics Readiness Officer (AFSC 21RX) with CAF and G.O.-level Executive Officer experience is a plus.
- Have strong communication and multitasking skills.
- Have excellent organizational abilities and a self-starting personality.
- Be able to work and lead in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.
- Have working knowledge of current Microsoft Office applications.
- Have good analytical skills and be able to operate in a demanding environment while executing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
