Overview:
Bowhead seeks a Technical Writer to support the upcoming Program Manger Long Range Fires (PM LRF) contract located in Stafford, VA. The PM LRF mission is to equip the Marine Corps with long-range antiship and land attack ground based weapons to enable a naval expeditionary force-in-readiness that is prepared to operate inside actively contested maritime spaces in support of fleet operations. PM LRF responsibilities include researching, developing, testing, producing, and fielding of ground-launched, long-range, surface-to-surface artillery rocket and missile systems and their associated fire direction and C2 capabilities. This responsibility also includes the sustainment, obsolescence mitigation, and modernization of legacy systems.

Responsibilities:
- Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces technical data for major publication projects.
- Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.
- May participate in the establishment of style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations.
- May provide work leadership for lower level employees.

BA/S in relevant field is preferred in addition to five - eight (8 ) years of relevant experience.- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
