What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Contracts Manager position at Box?
The Box Legal team is looking for a Contracts Manager to join the Vendor Legal group, which provides legal support and counseling for all of Box's procurement and corporate purchasing. You'll be reporting to the leader of theVendor Legal team and join a cross functional group that oversees vendor relationships at Box that includes ourStrategic Sourcing and Compliance teams. Your role will focus on drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial transactions for Box's purchase of a variety of goods and services, including complex software licensing and strategic professional services engagements. This position will be based out of Box's corporate offices in Austin, Texas.
- Serve as a primary legal reviewer for many of Box's vendor contracts; draft and negotiate master contracts, statements of work, order forms, and related legal documents.
- Collaborate with members of Box's Strategic Sourcing and Compliance teams to ensure timely review and approval of requested vendor engagements.
- Assist with managing and organizing Box's vendor contracts, update templates and conduct research on preferred legal terms and negotiating positions.
- Advise internal clients on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals.
- Work on projects to drive improvements to the vendor review process and train business stakeholders on legal issues.
- BA/BS degree with 3-7 of relevant professional business and/or contract management experience.
- Attentive with a highly detailed approach to reviewing and redlining contracts and the ability to explain company positions and policies courteously, succinctly, and persuasively.
- The ability to balance competing priorities and manage several time-sensitive projects at once in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
- A track record of positive collaborative experiences with the ability to comfortably manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with software licensing, professional services engagements, intellectual property, and data protection is a plus.
- Previous exposure to US and EU data security and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA) preferable
