What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barback position at Boxcar Bar + Arcade?
Position Summary: The barback position is vital to the continuous success of the bar. Barbacks are responsible for its set-up, cleaning, and supply needs ensuring all bar supplies and tools are cleaned and readily available for use by the bartenders.
Barbacks will be given the opportunity to train as a bartender after a detailed evaluation of their first 30 day period performance.
Compensation:
- $300-$900 weekly
- $7.50 per hour plus cash tips
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
· Clean and restock bar area
· Remove dirty glassware from bar area and run through dishwasher
· Restocking clean glassware once cooled and dried
· Ensure bar is stocked with all necessary barware, replenishing as needed
- Keep the bar fully stocked with beer, wine, liquor, and garnishments
- Refill juice bottles, fruit trays, and ice wells
- Restock liquor bottles and change out beer kegs during shift
- Replenish napkins, straws, and other counter items
- Replace empty soft drink concentrate when needed
- Switch out empty kegs with full kegs and perform line cleaning procedures between all keg

- Edit and print new menus as needed
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the bar and its respective areas
- Take out trash and recycling throughout the shift
- Assist with closing duties
- Assist with cooler organization and product rotation
- Assist with private events including room and bar setup as well in house catering
- Maintain consistent communication with Bar Lead throughout shift
Perform all other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management
