The Operations Manager is responsible for managing a high-volume, pick, pack and ship fulfillment center operations and is the main point of contact between the Director, Fulfillment and the shift leaders and associates. The responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, shipping monthly and marketing related orders, receiving products, inventory management, demand/supply and order management planning, quality control, safety, and reporting.
A successful Operations Manager is a motivational leader, responsible for engaging their team during a shift to achieve the highest levels of performance, safety, quality and attendance.
What You'll be Doing:
- Lead, manage and direct associates to meet or exceed operational goals, as well as monitoring performance, quality, and providing coaching and development
- Establish and measure against Key Performance Indicators to make ongoing improvements and enhancements
- Accountable for ensuring accuracy and on-time shipments, appropriate staffing levels and people utilization, and ensuring product quality; provide periodic reports to the Director, Fulfillment; work cross functionally with other Fulfillment Management to ensure goals are aligned
- Communicating policies to associates and act as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency and taking corrective action when needed
- Directing and ensuring top service for internal/external customers
- Developing performance goals and objectives to ensure accuracy, quality and customer expectations are met
- Maintain health and safety standards within the distribution center and promote a positive health and safety culture onsite
- Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily, weekly, monthly, and peak season labor schedules
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelors Degree in a business-related field with a focus on supply chain, logistics or other operational type fields preferred
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills
- 5+ years progressive experience in a fast-paced, high volume distribution operation which included automation
- A Minimum of 5+ years prior experience managing a team; demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage staff
- Experience in a B2C or E-Commerce warehouse operations preferred
- Project Management skills
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating with different personalities, cultures, and experience levels; promoting a culture of safety, inclusivity, and respect
- Strong background using WMS/MRP/and or WCS systems
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
Physical Job Demands:
- Exposure warehousing equipment hazards and varying temperatures in Fulfillment Centers
- Flexibility to travel to various fulfillment centers, vendor locations and corporate office
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers while performing the duties of this job
- Light to moderate lifting required
