Position Overview
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to use your sales skills while developing and managing key business partnerships and sponsorships? If yes, the Summit is looking for you to join their team as an Inside Sales Specialist. The Inside Sales Specialist actively prospects for, solicits, identifies, attracts, and acquires new business sales for major events and conferences for the Summit Bechtel Reserve Training Center.
You will have an opportunity to use your creative side assisting in the design of new products and services including anchor events, conferences, and meetings, for public use. The Inside Sales Specialist will help the sales team with selling group visits, accommodations, and related services to targeted groups and/or prospects via the telephone or walk-in business. This position also nurtures, leads, and contacts potential sales prospects to sell group level services offered by the reserve, develops and implements initiatives to enhance capacity to meet established sales goals, and acts independently in sales process using broad knowledge of the services offered. This position is required to travel within assigned territory to ensure sales goals and objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Develops new business opportunities with the input of various departments. Works effectively with internal and external leaders to pursue strategic partnerships, funding, and business. Actively pursues, solicits, and acquires new business and identifies opportunities to acquire new leads, to include making cold calls, attends events, and delivers effective presentations to large and small groups. Establishes and maintains trust and rapport with clients through appropriate coordination of new and existing accounts to ensure repeat business.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for existing customers and coordinates with internal and/or external constituencies to obtain price estimates, generates contracts.
- Participates in product development and improvement programs. Monitors quality and appropriateness of customer service provided and as required, advises, and assists staff, in the understanding of policies, systems and procedures. Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns, and suggestions.
- Utilizes databases and sales platforms to track customers, fulfill group orders, manage seat allocations, generate invoices, and/or input other relevant data. Compiles reports regarding sales activities and monitors progress toward established sales goals.
- Assists with the development of sales plans, policies, and procedures; assists with efforts to market and promote services, programs, and offerings.

Knowledge of: Marketing and sales principles, strategies, and techniques.
Skill in: Problem solving and efficiently responding to customer inquiries to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Ability to: Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and demonstrate ability to deliver effective presentations to diversified groups. Ability to travel to achieve sales goals and objectives. Travel is required and may at times exceed the estimated percentage of work time. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in working in group sales with a large or non-profit organization to include demonstrated experience creating new business lines, sponsorships, opportunities, and partnerships.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
Licenses
Valid state driver’s license (in good standing).
