We are hiring! Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming is hiring a Foundation Director to execute the vision, strategic planning, fundraising, and grantmaking to support the overall objectives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming Foundation.
The Foundation Director will be an accountable development professional with demonstrated experience cultivating and soliciting high level prospects and donors
Experience managing and developing high-level, strategic donor relationships is preferred
Experience working with committees and an understanding of group dynamics
Project management skills
Proven history of excellence in fundraising with demonstrated success in securing at least five- and six-figure major gifts from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and/or other organizations
This position requires a self-motivated, self-directed, creative professional who is able to perform well in a fast-paced, multi-county workplace
A four year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
A minimum of two years management experience in the nonprofit sector
Ability to utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks and complete deadlines while maintaining a balanced schedule
Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics
Ability to work with diverse personalities and expectations
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Extreme attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple high level projects
Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management
Willingness to support fund-raising events
Must be certified in First Aid and CPR

Responsibilities
They provide overall direction for the major gift program while building a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors from individuals and organizations
Duties include, but are not limited to, making personal visits and written solicitations, securing gifts, stewarding donors, hosting introductory and educational events, editing proposals and reports, timely correspondence and reporting, and initiating meetings for prospects and donors
Experience with community and public relations
The Foundation Director works collaboratively with the Resource Development Department, Chief Executive Officer, and Program Support Center team to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gift donors and donor prospects
Attend Foundation meetings
Develops and manages guidelines for planned and major gift campaigns and portfolio and participate in all aspects of the gift cycle including contact, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
Maintains a high level of contact with donors with an emphasis on soliciting, upgrading, and renewing gifts through diverse forms of stewardship
Builds new relationships from a large region while managing competing deadlines and attaining goals
Interacts and participates with committees, community groups, advisors, and Professional Advisory Council
Organizational and leadership skills to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas
Understanding of the BGCCW, including its structure, branches, mission, and strategic goals
Support the BGCCW in a comprehensive fundraising program with an emphasis on Foundation and programmatic support
Increase visibility of all Foundation and Club programs, services, and activities and maintain positive public relations with donors and prospects
Evaluate the results of all Foundation donor engagement efforts and implement modifications to exceed Foundation revenue goals
Contribute to the development of overall donor engagement goals and strategies for both the Club and Foundation and manage the implementation of all Foundation donor engagement activities
Professional Advisory Committee (PAC)
Support PAC planning and implementation of engagement activities
Actively participate in PAC meetings
Train Club Executives, Board Members, and other volunteers to effectively engage in donor solicitations, based upon personal relationships, program expertise, donor interests or other identified criteria
Maintain a portfolio of 150-200 prospects and donors that generate six- and seven-figure gifts from a wide range of sources including individuals, organizations, Board of Directors, churches, foundations, and corporations
Lead the analysis of giving trends for current annual donors to determine donor engagement potential
Responsible for the research, identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors
Ensure timely and accurate record keeping for all Foundation and major gifts consistent with industry standards and best practices
Raise $1 million to $3 million annually in sustainable revenue largely from new prospects
Participate in BGCCW external relations events and activities as appropriate
Develop and implement a strategic gift solicitation plan for generating major gifts from high-level prospects and donors within assigned region
Actively participate in BGCCW’s prospect management/proposal-tracking program to maintain accurate prospect information and ensure appropriate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts
Solicit planned gifts for special projects, including Foundation campaigns
Resource Management and Budget Control
Operate within budget while controlling expenditures
Follow purchase order and purchasing procedures
Provide consistent reporting and communication of activities and performance to goals
Elicit cooperation from diversified groups and effectively collaborate with other agencies
Develop high trust relationships with donors, donor prospects, Club partners, BGCCW alumni, and friends
Plan and conduct visits, in-person meetings, and other ongoing contact to build and cultivate relationships with current donors, prospective donors, friends, and alumni, effectively presenting the case for philanthropic support for the BGCCW
Align donor interests with BGCCW projects and programs
Develop collaborative partnerships and strategic alliances with community leader, current donors and prospects to grow the Foundation and/or strengthen the impact of the BGCCW
Elicit cooperation from peers and coworkers as needed
Maintain close working relationships with the CEO, Foundation board members, with frequent verbal and written communication to ensure organizational success in securing new funds for the Foundation
Participate as a key team member in a centralized development structure and play a critical role in building a collaborative, team-oriented environment among BGCCW leadership and staff
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, board members, and donors
Develop campaign materials to include appeals and thank you letters
Initiate contact with donor prospects with initial assessment/exploratory meetings and visits, following up with correspondence, phone calls, and additional contacts as appropriate
Knowledge of accessing, utilizing, and maintaining donor database
Develop and implement public relations and marketing campaigns for a diverse audience
Collaborate with colleagues in discussing prospects, coordinating solicitations, and creating materials in support of the Foundation and major gifts fundraising efforts
Identify and assess individual prospects’ affinity for the BGCCW and their financial capacity for targeted solicitation
Execute organization’s short- and long-term strategic goals and objectives
Evaluate progress and/or success of organization’s short- and long-term strategic goals and objectives
Seek out and participate in professional development opportunities
Artfully ask for the right gift at the right time in the right manner
Travel a minimum of 30% of work schedule
Meet annual individual fundraising goals in addition to other performance goals – including face to face visits, substantive donor contacts, and the submission and closing of both major and planned gift proposals
