Summary of Position:
The Accountant is responsible for general accounting duties, including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries for month-end close, city permitting, fixed asset management and maintaining legal, insurance and other organizational records.

This position is based at our Main Office, 200 High Street Boston, MA and is eligible to apply for a hybrid (in-office and remote) work model. It is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm with flexibility to attend events and meetings as needed.
Required Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fixed Asset Management including posting information to the fixed asset database, analysis of Capital Budget to actual expenditure, posting depreciation.
- Permit management, working with Club and Facilities staff to obtain all city permits required to operate all sites as well as summer camps.
- Process journal entries for the month-end close
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliation and resolve any accounting discrepancies.
- Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the DOE billing system to facilitate execution of all required processes both internally and externally at the state level.
- Assist in year-end audit process.
- Manage a central repository for all BGCB legal contracts and agreements, working with EVP/CFO for legal review and with A/P for payment.
- Assist EVP/CFO in managing insurance claims, annual insurance renewal applications and certificate requests from across the organization.
- Other duties and assignments as requested by the Controller and/or EVP/CFO.

Required Experience
Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demands)
- Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting coursework / experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills, with ability to interact with a variety of audiences, including staff and key individuals at vendors/partner organizations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to collect and organize data for research/reporting and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
