Financial Controller

What will I do?
As Financial Controller, you will be an important leader within the organization responsible for the oversight of all accounting functions, including external and internal financial reporting, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, compliance, internal controls, general ledger, and monthly close. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial sustainability. You will also manage & mentor a team of 3.
Accounting
- Manage all aspects of the monthly financial accounting close process, including reconciliations, receivables, payables, accruals, and relevant journal entries
- Manage Payroll
- Maintain and enhance an effective internal control environment based on meaningful well-documented ongoing financial risk assessment
- Maintain the fixed assets records and assure accuracy of the assets, capitalized costs, and amortization/depreciation entries
- Support Grants Department by providing required financial information
- Manage organization insurance needs
- Coordinate all activity to support the annual audit process
- Collaborate with tax accountants to complete 990 reporting
Finance
- Forecast and manage cash flow to ensure financial predictability and sustainability
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports for the Executive Team and Board of Directors
- Lead the annual budgeting and monthly variance analysis process
- Support Grants Department by providing required financial information
- Attend Finance Committee and Board meetings to provide strategic guidance and assess BGCPs financial health
- Manage banking relations
What qualifications should I have?
- Committed to and inspired by BGCPs mission
- 10 years experience in accounting
- Comfortable working independently without frequent direction while also being a team player
- Excellent computer skills including database management and spreadsheet skills
- Strong communication skillswritten and verbal
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization

Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $135,000 to $220,000 (DOE)
- Health benefits: BGCP pays 100% of premiums for medical, dental, and vision; 50% for dependents
- Retirement benefits: BGCP contributes up to 10% of salary to 401(k) plan after one year of employment
