JOB SUMMARY |
The Director of Grants is responsible for driving BGCAZ grant and contract activities in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan for funding. In coordination with the appropriate departments, prepares all aspects of grant applications, including researching and identifying appropriate opportunities, writing proposals and serving as the final sign-off on completed applications. Is responsible for overseeing Grant Managers and Administrators to ensure timely and appropriate grant follow through and flow. Will work alongside Finance, Human Resources, Facilities and the Operations teams to communicate and coordinate all grant expectations and deliverables. |
JOB RESPONSBILITIES |

- Assembles and submits grant applications, including obtaining letters of support, drafting proposals and updating budgets
| |
- Maintains and manages a prospect database of potential funders
| |
- Creates and issues monthly/quarterly reports regarding current grant progression and status to include, but not limited to awards, declines and opportunities
| |
- Maintains and monitors all stages of the grant process and assigns tasks to departments as needed
| |
- Ensures that proposed programs and budgets are aligned and monitors throughout the entire grant life cycle
| |
- Addresses and manages challenges and opportunities that may arise during project implementation with affected individuals/departments
| |
- Attends pre-grant application workshops, webinars and grant presentations
| |
- Presents grant related topics and information to internal and external stakeholders
| |
- Prepares and submits requests for budget and scope of work modification to appropriate funding agencies as needed
| |
- Encourages BGCAZ “Rules of Engagement” and incorporates into day to day interactions with staff
| |
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION |
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience with Grants in a non-profit setting
- Current Arizona Driver’s license

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS |
- Highly proficient in database management
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly detail oriented
- Knowledge of principles and practices of financial management and non-profit administration
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations relating to grant writing, administration, and management
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate and direct multiple activities with varied deadlines and deliver in a timely manner
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex information and recommend efficient, practical and high impact solutions/systems
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively while demonstrating emotional intelligence

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING |
- Travel between BGCAZ Branches, schools and community sites is required
- Work is performed in our Program Services Center-Administrative offices
