What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Care Technician position at Boys Town?
SCHEDULE: Downtown Campus-555 N 30th St. Mon-Fri 1:30p-10p.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Cleans floors, carpets, and upholstered surfaces; performs general cleaning duties.
Dusts, mops, strips, seals, finishes, and buffs floors; vacuums, edges, pre-spots, and shampoos carpets and upholstered surfaces.
Operates a truck-mounted unit while cleaning or restoring surfaces and upholstery; troubleshoots repair of floor care equipment as needed.
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and showers, removes marks from walls, and performs general cleaning duties.
Identifies conditions requiring other maintenance attention including electrical problems and chipping paint and reports conditions; provides routine maintenance (e.g., replaces light bulbs).
Supervises and trains student workers as needed.
Utilizes Boys Town vehicle to transport supplies and equipment to work locations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate in an articulate manner.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of cleaning products and appropriate usage.
Ability to run necessary cleaning machines and tools.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Minimum of 6 months floor care experience is preferred.
