What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Intern position at Boys Town?
SCHEDULE: Flexible Hours- Up to 19 hours per week.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Conducts comprehensive literature reviews to gather relevant information and background for research projects.
Assists in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data using various research methodologies and tools.
Participates in experimental design, execution, and data interpretation under the guidance of senior researchers.
Maintains accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations. Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed.
Collaborates with team members to brainstorm ideas, troubleshoot problems, and contribute to the overall success of research projects.
Assists in maintaining a clean and organized research environment. Helps with equipment setup, calibration, and routine maintenance tasks.
Actively engages in learning opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in relevant research areas. Attend seminars, workshops, and training sessions as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong academic record with coursework in research methods, data analysis, and relevant scientific disciplines.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative research environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in a high school with course work in a relevant field (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, etc.) required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior research experience (e.g., lab work, internships, projects) preferred.
