Position Summary: To work as a team member with other Resident Associates, Resident Care Coordinators, Resident Services Supervisor and the Resident Services Director on the deliverance of resident care, in order to facilitate resident satisfaction, facility efficiency and provider productivity. The Resident Associates assists with the day to day needs of the residents related to comfort, mobility, medication assistance and ADLs . To promote safety assists residents with attendance at activities, appointments and meals. Help set up dining area and serve meals to residents, families or guests. Minimum Qualifications: American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR & AED or American Heart Association BLS required within 2 months of hire American Heart Association Heart Saver First Aid required within 2 month of hire ServSafe required within 2 months of hire Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred: 1 year experience working as an aide or caregiver in a ALF, LTC, SNF or hospital Essential Job Functions: Ability to collect accurate information about residents and document and report to supervisor Demonstrates the ability to be a team player and assists other Residents Associate as needed Provides medication assistance to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse Demonstrate awareness of necessary safety precautions Demonstrate communication skills in relating to residents, families and staff Ability to give safe, comfortable and accurate care according to the individualized care plan Complies with policies and procedures of BDHS and Hillcrest Senior Living Maintains a responsible attitude towards BDHS and Hillcrest Senior Living Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment Creativity, problem analysis and decision making Ability to work varied shifts Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to the job classification.
