This position is responsible for administrative duties associated with running a thriving early childhood education center. The successful candidate will report to the Director and execute a variety of day-to-day and long-term duties in coordination with the administrative team. This individual is a member of the administrative team, having accountability for staff scheduling and office systems management, facility coordination, compliance, staff support and supervision. The Operations Manager provides critical daily support with an ongoing focus on creating a highly functioning, supportive, and effective work and learning environment.

Operations Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- STAFF: Manage staff schedules, plan for staffing needs, arrange coverage for planned and unplanned absences. Participate in staff development: building orientation, in-service days, coordination with the applicable admin team. Available to step into the classroom when needed.
- RECORDS: Manage and update children’s files in compliance with licensing requirements including immunization records, required staff trainings, etc. or as needed
- COMPLIANCE: Communicable illness monitoring, reporting and communication to Health Department and Director, coordinating with campuses. Coordinate with team and submit paperwork for licensing renewal, as needed; STARS assessments, organizing and tracking all records, update working checklists, scheduling inspections, and working within school policies to create alignment between licensing, STARS, and Montessori objectives within operational policies; coordinate monthly evacuation drills.
- FACILITIES: Schedule and coordinate support for facility operations; understand and maintain building needs, ensuring that building is functional and cleaned daily
- COMMUNITY: School event support, monthly newsletter coordination, annual calendar, school-wide reminders, cards, etc.
- GENERAL: Provide support to staff as needed in and out of the classroom, manage ordering of supplies, inventory, and be available for families’ questions and concerns during major transitions, and manage phone systems
- MARKETING: On an as-needed basis, social media and website maintenance; contribute towards marketing strategies such as Bozeman Montessori promotional materials, periodic advertising, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment
- Organizational and time management skills
- Problem solving and project management skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; ability to learn other software/web-based systems specific to our center
- Office management, administration and supervisory experience
- Meet and maintain all applicable licensing regulations as required for Early Childhood Educators in a state-licensed center.
- This position requires the physical ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds and, on an as-needed basis, the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, stand, sit on the floor, and participate in a variety of physical activities that take place in an early childhood setting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree and/or experience in a related field, preferably Montessori
- Compassionate leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to balance flexibility within the structure of school systems
- A desire to serve a beautiful group of families and teachers
- Experience in a licensed childcare facility and/or preschool
- Familiarity with various technology, web based systems, such as Deputy, BrightWheel, BambooHR and/or the MT ECP, etc.
Job Type: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm position, 35-40 hours per week, year-round with planned spring, summer and winter breaks
