The Accountant is a part of the Administration Team, whose focus and key result is organizational strength, ensuring that we are effectively managing assets – both people and profits.
The Accountant performs daily, monthly, and yearly activities including generating financial reports, developing budgets, preparing taxes, assisting with audits and resolving discrepancies. They ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting and payroll data for all lines of business while maintaining corporate standards.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assists with preparation and review of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (IS, BS, CF)
- Performs variance analysis for monthly income statement
- Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, including payments, deposits, invoicing and AR aging
- Oversees preparation and submission of bi-weekly payroll
- Actively monitors and manages cash accounts
- Assists with forecasting and annual planning, working collaboratively with manager
- Partners to create and/or improve business processes to enhance ease of use and efficiencies
Required skills & competencies:
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, including v-lookup, pivot tables, and if-then functionality
- Skilled in using Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite including
- Working knowledge of Sage 100 accounting software, Paylocity payroll, and QuickBooks a plus
- General understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data
- Superior internal and external customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high-level verbal and written communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Learning-oriented, ability to learn new procedures, follow current procedures and best practices, and recommend alterations that make processes more efficient
- Precise with attention to detail and accuracy

Experience and/or education:
Requires 2 - 4 years of experience in accounting and/or finance and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent background.
Experience required in financial accounting; business planning and budgeting preferred.
