Job Purpose
Ensures service standards are met and surpassed by providing customers with prompt, quality coffee selection, purchase and preparation. Customers and employees will experience a friendly, upbeat and clean atmosphere.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcomes and connects with every customer to provide excellent customer service.

• Discover customer needs and appropriately suggests product with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals.

• Assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales ( as applicable).

• Responds to customers needs and says thank you to every customer.

• Maintains customer service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner

• Demonstrates “just say yes” behavior when taking care of customer needs

• Prepares a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and coffee of the week to Starbucks standards.

• Enforces store policies and procedures for that facilitates efficient customer service and profitable operation.

• Enforces and performs cleaning tasks in accordance with the Duty Rosters and cleaning standards and works as a store team player.

• Presents oneself professionally and demonstrates clear communication by using start skills with all customers and partner interactions

• Enforces and follows standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, ad storing all products.

• Performs equipment maintenance in accordance with preventive maintenance checklist.

• Enforces and follows cash handling and register policies.

• Learns and demonstrates creating the Starbucks experience to ensure the highest quality product and customer service possible.

• Learns and demonstrates all performance standards by completing initial store training and passing Barista Training certification (with a score of 90% or higher) and Barista Trainer Training and Starbucks Advanced Store Training.

• Contributes toward store profitability by seeking opportunities to increase sales, manage appropriate inventory, and costs of goods control and control labor costs.

• Supports the SM in ensuring the proper types and amounts of materials, supplies, and merchandise are ordered and stocked. Effectively communicates new product information to the associates.

• Supports the SM in ensuring all company policies, store operating standards, and procedures are communicated effectively and maintained in a consistent manner.

• Supports the SM in ensuring store appearance and equipment are maintained in a consistent manner.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to communicate in English.

• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.

• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.

• Can communicate well with guests.

• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.

• Ability to use point of sale.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Experience in customer service industry required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, and bending

• Frequent operation of sales & equipment; such as a computer, telephone, coffee machine etc.

• Ability to lift/carry weight up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to push/and pull carts of products weighing up to 150 pounds.
