Position Summary
As a Product Security Engineering Intern, you will be expected to analyze architecture, and product design with different technology stacks, applications, firmware, and hardware from a security perspective. You will be involved in discovering security issues and recommending remediation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage in security research and develop tooling to enhance the product security capability to detect and harden system faster.
- Engage with product team to review their system architecture and research on additional security capabilities.
- Partner with teams to perform security testing such as vulnerability testing and penetration testing to ensure that BMT products are built with the highest standard of security
- Build security automation scripts for security tools integration into the CI/CD pipeline and build adoption guides for the development teams.
- Evaluation of new security tools and technologies and build internal tools as needed
- Work with cross-functional teams including, R&D Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory to participate in security risk reduction.
- Contribute to the development of security training
Relationship development
This role provides the opportunity to learn and work cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders to include product development teams and contribute to product security deliverables and activities.
Training to be Provided
Students will be exposed to working with software developers, systems engineers, Hardware/Firmware engineers, and program managers within multiple business units in Bracco Medical Technologies.
They will have the opportunity to practice and learn advanced security skillsets such as threat modeling, penetration testing, and security tool integration such as SAST/SCA.
Students will work alongside very senior and competent product security engineers.
Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with Bracco Medical Technologies professionals.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline with graduation date no later than end of 2024
- Knowledge in Application Security, OWASP top 10
- .Net and, C#, C or Java development experience
Preferred
- Currently enrolled in master's degree in Information Security, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with graduation date no later than end 2024
- Used hack the box or similar environment to develop hacking skills
- Basic knowledge of IoT, Hardware, and Web application
- 2 years experience in systems security administration control and/or software engineering experience or other related experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
Job Location
- Eden Prairie, Minnesota (Remote is an option for the right candidate)
Term/Hours
- May 2024 start dates are preferred, but other start dates may be considered. A longer-term engagement, similar to a co-op program, is optional
- Hours: 40 hours per week
