Title: QA Tech - 2nd Shift

Job Function: Performs visual, dimensional and functional inspection of packaging components, in-process material and finished products as part of the manufacturing process. Audits production records and maintains QA inspection records. Reports nonconformance to the QA Manager and production. Initiates accept, hold or reject activities for products. Prepares documentation and samples to be sent to customers for evaluation and release of the product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs line checks to insure conformance to customer and specification requirements.
- Perform inspection of raw materials/packaging components used on the production line.
- Completes documents/records following cGMP documentation practices.
- Performs colorimeter checks.
- Performs statistical sampling following ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 sampling requirements.
- Locates raw material, packaging components or finished product by IC number or production date using current inventory control software.
- Performs incoming sampling and inspects packaging components (as needed).
- Adheres to company safety policies.
- Comply with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Environmental policies when handling and disposing of chemicals.
- Perform additional duties as requested by those authorized to request such activities including required overtime to meet departmental requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school education/GED; one to two years of experience in quality assurance role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment; general knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) a plus.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of Windows office software (Word, Excel)
- Ability to obtain required information from Oracle/Visual software programs.
- Ability to interact with those contacted in the course of work, including employees at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of work situations, organizes work for appropriate and timely completion, and function independently in the absence of supervision.
