TheAccounting Supervisor isresponsible for supervising a team of professionals and administrative staff in the activities of General Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Financial Reporting. Responsibilities include capital project cost management, fixed asset reporting, accounting systems structure and utilization, compliance, technical support and analysis across a broad spectrum of accounting activities.
Responsibilities:
Ensures the organization's financial resources are managed in accordance with the organization's accounting policies, procedures and accounting principles; complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards; activities include general ledger maintenance, financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, revenue, and asset accounting; prepares financial and operating reports.
Responds to financial reporting requirements including the monthly Financial Package, standing and ad hoc requirements from the Management Team, and Regulatory requirements; determines detailed requirements, defines the data elements and format required, data source systems and locations
Works with capital Project Leaders to load and review Purchase Requisitions vs. approved projects; reviews actual invoices received vs. approved project costs, etc.
Performs year-end project close out upon notice of capital project completion; maintains project files in archive and forwards completed projects on to corporate office for annual update to Fixed Asset Management System
Performs Bank Reconciliations, monthly reconciliation of project expense vs. capital, actual expense vs. Purchase Orders
Reviews actual cost accumulations vs. project plan; assembles project-to-date variance reporting; alerts management of significant project variances
Directs and monitors a variety of accounting activities within the facility including general accounting, cost accounting, cost analysis, reporting and payroll; supervises local insurance and risk management programs.

Assists the Director – Controller/Finance in the development and maintenance of planning and budgeting systems, preparation of financial and management reports and procedures, and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to senior management.
Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of accounting professionals to ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and on time; coaches and mentors team members and assign tasks to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively.
Trains and manages other accounting staff.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
5-7 years of accounting experience
1-3 years of previous leadership experience
Solid understanding of general ledger and accounting principles, laws, and regulations
Manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to manage large amounts of financial data
Strong ability to communicate financial information and reporting to internal business partners at all levels of the organization
