Position Overview : Powder Torch Operator removes risers and gates for all stainless-steel castings and other alloys without causing damage to the casting per work instructions within customer requirements and dimensional tolerances in a safe and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Removal of metal, such as pads, riser stubs, bosses, fins, etc., for stainless steel and other alloy castings using special cutting agent (scarfing powder) and heavy duty hand cutting torch.
• Shape casting within the correct dimensional tolerances
• Utilize the overhead crane for the movement of castings and equipment
• Keep work area clean
• Alert supervisor to any safety or quality issues needing attention
• Alert supervisor to any maintenance needs
• Recommend process improvements
• Participate in special activities, projects, and programs in order to support Bradken’s safety, quality, and productivity goals
• Other duties as assigned or requested

Experience :

• No experience necessary.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred
• Previous experience operating Abrasive blasting equipment is desired

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• Ability to fill out daily production & labour sheets.
• Must have valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions
• Able to twist, stoop bend, and stand in the performance of job duties
• Must be able to lift 55 pounds repetitively
• Must be able to lift 85 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shift
• Must have good vision and depth perception

Pay Range : $22.63 - $29.54 / hr (Depending on experience)

Shift : Monday-Friday, 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM (Must be flexible for OT if needed)
