We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager based in Tacoma, Washington to lead foundry operations while meeting overall manufacturing and quality standards. You will demonstrate a positive and pro-active approach while directing, supervising, and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure profitable production flow, quality standards, and schedule commitments on both a strategic and hands-on operation level.
The Manufacturing Manager provides leadership to establish operating principles, communication, knowledge sharing, and reporting strategies for visibility into plant performance and continuous improvement efforts. This role will manage all aspects of the operational processes for the plant site and is critical in ensuring the skills and competency of direct reports are developed and maintained. As a key leader, you will reinforce a high performing safety, quality, delivery, and manufacturing culture. Through employee engagement and support, the Manufacturing Manager focuses on performance improvement, cost reduction, product delivery and customer service. The incumbent will develop and execute strategic plans aligned with business goals, priorities, and directions.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Business Management or equivalent experience
- Six Sigma, Lean or quality management qualifications preferred
- 10 years' experience working in a Senior Production within a foundry environment
- Experience overseeing multiple production functions simultaneously within a unionized environment
- Demonstrated experience in people management, change management and project management
- Demonstrated experience in driving safety performance and building a safety-oriented culture.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of lean manufacturing environments, operational and tactical plans, processes and techniques
- Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles and practices, lean manufacturing and / or production process.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, industrial and employee relations best practice and administrative guidelines.
- Ability to build and lead high performance teams
- Ability to drive safety and build a strong safety culture.
- The ability to operate equally well at both a strategic and hands-on operational level
- Strong analytical skills and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
- Strong consultative, presentation, business communication skills (oral and written) required
- Proven ability to influence, advise and support leaders and managers of the businesses on a range of complex issues
- Ability to negotiate solutions to complex problems and manage relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees in cross-functional or matrixed teams
- Ability to manage budgets and understand financial reports
- A strong sense of organization and planning with the ability to manage time well
- Refined business acumen
