An exciting opportunity exists for a Painter to join our St. Joeseph, MO location. The Painter is to support plant production within the Machine Shop.
SHIFT: 3rd (11pm-7am)
PAY: $21.25-$22.59
Purpose Statement:
To paint, prep, and prime castings for shipment. Load castings onto flat-bed semis and van trailers using a forklift as needed. Ability to meet a shift schedule and communicate daily progress with Machine Shop management.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Prepare, prime, and paint castings
- Maintain and clean equipment and workstation
- Prep parts for painting using various methods
- Ability to mix paint and color as need to meet requirements
- Ensure even and consistent paint coverage on all surfaces.
- Properly hook and move castings as needed
- Operate a various forklifts and cranes
- Load casting onto semi-truck and trailers
- Inspect and trouble shoot equipment as needed
- Report inadequate or faulty equipment as needed to management
- Daily communication with management and peers
- Understand written process instruction and requirements related the job.
- Complete and pass annual fit test requirements per OSHA guidelines.
- Accurately monitor a paint meter and flow rate
- Ability to stand frequently and maintain physical stamina
- Ability to change out paint barrels as a team
- Lift buckets full of paint weighing 60 lbs by hand.
- Additional responsibilities as designated
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a US Person to perform inspection on restricted documents including ITAR and Export Control data.
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear a respirator as required for the job
Experience:
- Preferred experience and knowledge of painting concepts
- Preferred forklift experience
- Preferred crane experience
- Detailed oriented
- Good hand and eye coordination
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as a team
